  • Transformer-less xPico connection

    Hello,
I have a requirement to connect xPico device and an Ethernet switch IC. (Realtek RTL8305N) on the same PCB. The two components will be no more than 10 cm apart. It seems that in this situation a capacitive coupling instead of using magnetics is very much desirable. I looked at the Lantronix user and the hardware integration manuals for information and found none.

Can anyone share some information on this matter?

    Alex

I assume the wired xPico and not the xPico 200 family. Check your email - I'll drop you a doc.

I have the same problem with a board I'm designing. The xPico will be a few inches from an ethernet switch IC on a PCB. Could I see the same document?

      Thanks

        Garry0427,

I am also going for a capacitive coupled connection between my ethernet phy and the xPico. I am following the TI guide (http://www.ti.com/lit/an/snla088a/snla088a.pdf) at the moment. Would you mind sharing your info?

        Regards,

        Josh
