  • Wi-Fi Firmware Upgrade always fails

This is kind of rudimentary, but I'm trying to build and test some of the demos. I seem to be able to "make" them OK (I set SDK_VERSION := 1.9 in makefile) and the .rom file is created OK. Then I use the web interface to upload and it gets to 99% writing and just sits there. Then I get Error: Upgrade Failed

    Here is my tlog:

By the way I'm using the XPC250300EK evaluation kit.

I suspect you are running into flashing a non-signed image over the Lantronix signed rom image. See the SDK User Guide section on Secure Boot.

Thanks for the response. Whatever it is, it's not making for a very pleasant "evaluation" of the product. Hopefully it's just something I'm missing because I wasn't planning on getting involved in signing my code until much later in the evaluation. Is there a way to overcome this situation?

Anyone reading this far, my Tera Term was the problem. I updated to the latest (released a few days ago) and it worked fine. Here is an alternate macro that predefines the file rather than using a dialog box. The explanation is helpful too:
