  • ARP and routing issue.

    Hi,

I'm using an XPORT Pro with Evolution OS 5.5.0.1R6 to receive UDP Packets and send answers.

When the UDP packets come from outside the local network, the XPort Pro doesn't send replies to the gateway. Instead it is issuing ARP requests to resolve the IP address.

    Example:
    XPort Pro IP settings:
    IP: 172.20.200.51/16
    Gateway: 172.20.1.1

UDP packets are coming from 172.16.200.1
The XPort Pro is programmed to send answers to that IP address.

Sometimes the XPortPro will issue an arp request for 172.16.200.1. This is wrong. I would expect the XPort Pro to send the answers to the gateway.

It doesn't happen all the time. Resetting the XPort Pro sometimes resolves the issue.

Does anyone else have this behaviour?
Could I be doing something wrong in my code? (e.g. by setting up the sockets wrong)
Is that a problem with my version of Evolution OS?

I tried to use Evolution OS 5.5.0.2R5 as well. It had the same issue. Only the conditions when the error arises are slightly different.

    Any advice is appreciated.

    Thanks
